The Product

UC Irvine was able to achieve their vision of the architectural accents of the new structure through Grating Pacific’s Swaged Aluminum Grating. Arranged in a rectilinear pattern with radial geometry, these products create a large shade structure that surrounds the building and enhances the architectural appeal of the building. Architectural bar grating presents a modern look with an authentic style, combining contemporary design practices with functional grating applications.

Why Aluminum Grating?

Aluminum Grating is lightweight, corrosion resistant, economical and has an unmatched strength-to-weight ratio. It provides natural cooling and shelter, while also permitting the passage of light and air in a maintenance-free design. Made with significant percentages of post-industrial and post-consumer recycled aluminum, this grating provides LEED credits for recycled content. The aluminum grating was furnished with a three-coat fluoropolymer coating to provide long lasting color with minimal fade from ultraviolet rays. Grating Pacific takes great pride in helping to shape our society’s bright educational future, and in assisting UC Irvine in their efforts towards creating a sustainable campus.
