Molded Fiberglass Grating
Molded Square Mesh
Our most popular FRP product, molded square mesh grating is available in 1”, 1-1/2”, and 2” depths. The 1” and 1-1/2” deep products are produced with a 1-1/2” square mesh while the 2” deep products are produced with a 2” square mesh. The square pattern of the panels provides bi-directional strength and facilitates easy layout and fabrication.
Popular resins include economical Corvex polyester, superior Vi-Corr vinyl ester, and other application specific resins. All products are available with the standard concave meniscus surface or optional grit surface (coarse or fine grit).
For a further details on mesh openings and panel sizes, please view our Sizes & Options.
Molded Rectangular Mesh
Available in 1” deep, 1” x 4” pattern, rectangular mesh FRP gratings are commonly used for walkways and trench applications. When selecting rectangular mesh grating it is important to specify the span (rectangular opening) of the grating perpendicular to the supporting structure.
Like our square mesh products, popular resins include economical Corvex polyester, superior Vi-Corr vinyl ester, and other application specific resins. All products are available with the concave meniscus surface or the optional grit surface (coarse or fine grit).

Micro-Mesh® Molded Grating
The 1/2” square opening of Micro-Mesh molded FRP gratings is ADA conforming and makes them popular for applications in the public way. Available in 1” or 1-1/2” depths, Micro-Mesh has bi-directional strength which facilitates efficient layout and fabrication.
Available in the full range of resins offered for molded products, Micro-Mesh surface options are concave meniscus, optional smooth (sanded) surface, or optional coarse or fine grit surfaces.

Super Vi-Corr®
This family of resin systems consists of more than 30 custom formulas engineered to provide corrosion control solutions in applications that are too severe for conventional FRP and other building materials. Each Super Vi-Corr resin was engineered for the best possible performance in specific chemical and/or elevated temperature environments.
These systems exist for aggressive chemical environments with exposure to solvents, acidic oxidizers, chlorine dioxide, sodium hypochlorite and liquid desiccants. Certain formulas are also suited for elevated temperature applications up to 400° F. Super Vi-Corr gratings are typically used for packing hold-downs and support in environmental and process scrubber applications.
Flame Spread: non fire retardant, unless specified.
Standard color: natural – tan to beige.

Molded Fiberglass Grating Surface Options
Grating Pacific’s molded fiberglass grating comes with a meniscus surface. Additional applied grit slip resistant surfaces are available and recommended based on the type of application. Desired surface options must be specified at the time of ordering.
Meniscus Surface
Also known as a concave surface. This surface provides some slip-resistant as the middle surface of the bearing bars curves slightly downward compared to the edges of the bearing bars. This process occurs as the resins set in the prescision moldes used to make molded fiberglass grating.
Standard Coarse Grit
This coarse grit surface is integrally-applied across the top of the bearing bars. This surface option should be selected for industrial applications where maximum slip resistance is required.
Aqua Grit
Also known as a sugar grit surface, this optional surface is also an integrally-applied grit surface. Aqua Grit is a slip resistant surface that is recommended for applications that involve barefoot traffic such as docks, water parks, an other aquatic recreation areas.

Chemical Resistance Guide
When selecting a fiberglass grating resin, it is important to know what corrosive agents the grating will be exposed to once it is installed. This Chemical Resistance Guide is based on extensive experience with fiberglass grating. As actual use conditions differ, the end user must test the grating for use under actual conditions. Grating Pacific’s technical service representatives are available to discuss the specifics of each project and assist our customers in selecting the best resin for their project.
Fiberglass Grating Fasteners
All FRP grating should be securely fastened to its supporting structure to protect the grating and increase product service life. Specialty clips manufactured from type 316 stainless steel are available for all fiberglass products. Clips can be used to attach grating or plate to the supporting structure or fasten adjacent grating panels to minimize load induced differential deflection.
Maximum recommended clip spacing is 48 inches on center with a minimum of four (4) clips per piece of grating.
