Pultruded fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) curb angle protects the lead edge of concrete trenches and pits and provides a uniform bearing surface for the grating. Manufactured by pultruding durable 1/4” thick profiles, FRP curb angle is available in standard “Y” configuration or optional EZ Angle embed frame.
Standard resin is gray, vinyl ester. For specification and installation information, please view FRP Curb Angle Details.
Molded Grating Pedestals
Specially designed legs (pedestals) for square mesh molded grating are manufactured to provide sturdy support for elevated flooring. Pedestal supported floors are versatile and easily modified or relocated.
Adjustable within their specified range, standard pedestals raise grating platforms from 3-1/4″ to 42″. Custom pedestals with cross bracing can raise floors 72″ above the base elevation.
All grating should be securely fastened to its supporting structure. Specialty fasteners manufactured from type 316 stainless steel are available for all fiberglass products. Clips can be used to secure grating or plate to the supporting structure or fasten adjacent grating panels to minimize load induced differential deflection.
Maximum recommended clip spacing is 48 inches on center with a minimum of four (4) clips per piece of grating.
Epoxy clear coating should be used to seal cut ends of FRP grating panels and other components. This is recommended to prevent corrosive chemicals from reaching and attacking glass fibers exposed during cutting and drilling, thus extending the life of the product.
Clear coating kits are available from Grating Pacific or your local hardware outlet.
